FTM Surgery – Female to Male Surgery

Our surgeons strongly believe in a personalized approach in assisting their patients achieve their surgical goals.

For genital reconstruction, we follow the current World Professional Association of Transgendered Health (WPATH) guidelines. For more information on the letter requirements please visit our FAQ’s.

FTM Top Surgery

Top Surgery is one of the most common female to male gender confirmation surgeries. Our surgeons perform both the double incision and keyhole surgical procedures.  For double incision patients, our surgeons do not routinely use drains.  The combination of not using drains and performing intercostal nerve blocks before starting the procedure our patients have a dramatic decrease in their post-operative pain.

FTM Bottom Surgery

Our surgeons offer both the metoidioplasty (meta) or phalloplasty (phallo) procedure. Urethroplasty (urethral lengthening), vaginectomy (removal of vagina), and scrotoplasty (creation of scrotum) are generally performed in conjunction with either the metoidioplasty or phalloplasty, however you may elect to forego any these procedures.

Metoidioplasty creates a phallus from the hormonally-enlarged clitoris.

Free flap phalloplasty techniques offer optimal sensation, and include radial forearm, anterior lateral thigh (ALT) and musculocutaneous latissimus dorsi (MLD) phalloplasty. Penile implant placement is optional.
